Bullous pemphigoid (BP) and cicatricial pemphigoid (CP) are autoimmune subepidermal
blistering diseases, whose pathogenesis is related to an Ag/Ab system targeting the
basement membrane zone (BMZ) level, together with a cellular response evoked by autoreactive
T helper lymphocytes [
